I was born as the little of three sons in a humble family in Spain. A working mother and a drunk father raised me in an environment of not getting enough attention as a child should have. During my childhood I grew knowing something, as soon as I can I have to give my mother enough to stop working and have the life she deserves.
At 16 I started working as a referee, and gave all I made to my mother, but after a couple of years I saw that there was no roof, she still worked the same and our lives didn’t changed. My eldest brother left the house taking all our savings and disappearing from our lives, it killed my mother on the inside and fall into a deep depression, she still blaming herself for that today.
There was a point that nothing was going forward, everything was getting worse, and I had to take the hardest choices of my life: I had to leave my mother to go the other part of the world, literally, Australia.
I went there with 500 euros and a dream: retiring my mother. I didn’t know how, or when, but I’ll do it. I slept in hostals with 15 more strangers in the same room, worked in every place I saw… and after some months, sending home money every week, working 12-16h a day, no rest… I realized, nothing was changing. I wasn’t close to the person I owe my life, I wasn’t retiring her because everything was getting more expensive and I was having no time for living…
